This book fair is held at the old cattle mart in Delvin – books and more books PLUS a bit of fudge if you are peckish or want something to nibble on when you are curled up at home reading your new purchase..

five days of flowery fun! This event in Phoenix Park can be rather hectic at the weekends so if you have the opportunity to visit on the Thursday or Friday..

When we are at events, markets , craft fairs people often ask where they can buy Man of Aran Fudge in a shop…….but we ususally have to explain that it is not available because it is a fresh food product that takes a great deal of care and has a shelf- life of about one month only. Now we have finally developed a fudge using the same ingredients as Man of Aran Fudge but cooked differently to give the product a longer shelf- life – introducing Aunty Mary’s Fudge……………..

So Tomás is going to be at the Rose of Tralee Festival with Man of Aran Fudge  – I suppose all the flavours are like roses to him!  Anyway last night I dreamt that we were at an event and we had some Rose and Caramel flavour fudge but no-one was interested in it at all (suprise!). Weird dream; when the event finished the organizer invited the stall holders to make sandwiches in his office ….

Tomás has made a lot of Heavenly Honeycomb fudge this week as we are at lots of events over the holiday weekend and have to say the warm weather makes honeycomb a bit sticky to handle

Peppermint choc chip is one of our most popular fudges.It is probably the least sweet which is why we consider it to be flavour of the month for July.

On Monday mornings at Man of Aran Fudge  HQ we discuss what happened at the weekend; what was the feed-back from customers? An unusal story emerged from Tomás’s trip to Derry:

It seems a man walked past the Man of Aran Fudge stand but then turned around and came back.  He started to choose a box of fudge and told him his reason for buying the fudge.

The reason was this: we looked after the queen when she visited Ireland so we deserved some trade as a result.
